It is a musical and performative project that merges collaborative composition and free improvisation for cello, saxophone, voice, and electronics. Inspired by the philosophical notion of contingency — which asserts that reality is not determined by preexisting factors but instead encompasses a degree of indeterminacy and chance — the project also includes a visual dimension through video, lighting, and embodied performance.
The performance , lasting 45-50 minutes, is structured into three distinct parts. Two individual pieces composed by Ana Parejo and Hortense Airault, specially created for the duo, frame a central piece composed together : ← CONTINGENCES →. These three pieces, are interconnected by a shared exploration of sound, the body, and immediacy.
Claim the space - Duo Imminent x KonnektCtrl
Konnekt commissioned Duo Imminent to create a new work, providing the artists with access to KonnektCtrl, its innovative sound-transformation technology. The project highlighted the creativity and initiative of two emerging musicians from the Swiss music scene.
The work was premiered in March 2026 at Le Lex Madone in Geneva.
Canard, Hipo et Dauphin - Duo Imminent x Florencia Novoa
Festival Archipel, April 2025
Duo Imminent & Florencia Novoa presented a concert for young children as part of the Minuscule concert series at the Archipel Festival (Geneva).
They performed Hortense Airault’s “Petite Suite pour Jouets” (2023), “Canard, Hipo et Dauphin” (2025), written for the occasion by Florencia Novoa, and “Minuscule” (2025) a piece composed by Hortense, Ana, and Florencia that blended storytelling with improvisation.
