← CONTINGENCES →
Is a creative project by Ana Parejo & Hortense Airault that explores intersections between improvisation, composition, & physicality using ‘cello, saxophone, voice and live electronics.
In their immersive, evolving performances, the musicians explore and share the different facets of what makes each of their musical identities unique. They plunge us into a universe that puts into stark contrast ethereal, clear textures with saturated, noisy soundscapes. The ‘cello scrapes from one end of its register to the other, while the saxophone melds with the voice in expressive buzzes and whispers.
Past recollections emerge from a noisy contemporary universe, a sonic mirage awakening memories of the collective unconscious. Music of the immediate, creating a new language for the present moment.
The musicians draw on the thread of human and artistic encounters, provoking chance, & cultivating the notion of contingency through free improvisation. They discover new territories that contribute to the expansion of their artistic world.

DIALOGUE | SOLILOQUY
Bodies and sounds clash, merge or join forces with and against a third electronic presence that tries to overwhelm them.
